Students of Soil Bhríde, Kill are today celebrating the 105th birthday of Kildare woman, Mabel Lyons.
Having turned 105 on Sunday, students of the primary school have designed a newspaper article detailing world and local events from 1921-2026, all 105 years of her life.
Born in 1921, Ms Lyons lived in the Hartwell Stud and continues to live there today.
She is well-known in the horse industry, having rode in the first Tullow Agricultural Show in 1946 and winning first prize in the show jumping ring.
Students of Scoil Bhríde will line the entrance of the Eurospar in Kill, and present the newspaper to Ms Lyons.
Today also marks the 105th day in school at Scoil Bhríde, and to mark the occasion, all pupils have come to school either dressed as a 100+ year-old person, or as a person from 100 years ago.
