Kildare county council planning department has issued conditional approval for the development of a 20 boutique hotel in Milltown.
The premises known as the Hanged Man’s applied for the permission which also includes lounge bar and restaurant, canal-side decking, rooftop herb garden with solar panels, enlarged car park.
The Council has requested further information and decision will be published in mid-October.
Separately, the planning department has also received an application for the premises known as The Winning Post, on Eyre St and John’s Street Newbridge to be converted from licensed premises to an amusement/gaming arcade.
A decision will be announced in relation to the Arcade in late September.
Conditional planning approval has also been granted to Barrettstown Castle for alterations to an existing medical centre, located in a single-storey 19th/early 20th century courtyard building, and the construction of a new, single-story light-weight extension within a former walled garden.
The proposed development will provide an improved medical centre facility for Barrettstown.
Planning permission was refused for the establishment of an equestrian business in Kill.
It proposed, amongst other works, to provide accommodation for up to 18 injured horses, a veterinary inspection area, an exercise paddock, a stable yard and an equine waste storage facility.
