A new Community Climate Action Series is taking place in Maynooth during September and October.
Kildare County Council is inviting the community to take part and help shape the future of the Maynooth Decarbonising Zone.
The series will provide opportunities for residents, community groups, businesses, students, local organisations and other stakeholders to learn more about the Maynooth DZ.
While also being able to share their views and priorities and explore practical ways to support climate action in the town and surrounding area.
It will be delivered through three connected events under the themes Have Your Say, Join the Conversation and Take Action:
The first event will take place on Saturday 12 September, entitled Maynooth 2030 – What Would You Choose?
Taking place at Manor Mills Shopping Centre, from 10am to 3pm, this pop-up event will invite people to share their views on what they would like Maynooth to become over the coming years, ranging from biodiversity to waste prevention, community facilities and support for local groups.
On Saturday 3 October, Shaping Maynooth’s Climate Future – Local Dialogue Event for the Maynooth Decarbonising Zone, at the Glenroyal Hotel will explore local climate risks, existing and future community priorities as well as the supports needed to different stakeholders take climate action locally.
This event will begin at 9.30am until 1.45pm with registration from 9am.
Finally on Sunday 25 October, From Dialogue to Action – Circular Living in Maynooth DZ at Maynooth Education Campus from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
