CCPC Rules Out In-Depth Grocery Price Study Amid Consumer Concerns

Social Democrats TD Jennifer Whitmore said the report doesn't reflect what most people are experiencing.

The consumer watchdog says it sees no evidence to justify an in-depth study of grocery prices.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission insists there's healthy competition in the food sector, and says increased prices are generally lower than the EU average.

It does acknowledge there are issues with the cost of agricultural products.
