Town Regeneration Officers have been designated in each local authority.
Castledermot has been identified for the next phase of Town Centre First.
The town has been identified as one of the next 26 towns nationally that have been approved to develop Town Centre First Plans.
Castledermot will be provided with €30,000 in funding to complete a comprehensive town plan to help develop its town centre as part of Phase 2 of the initiative.
The plans, formulated through extensive consultations with local communities, encapsulate the aspirations of residents for their respective areas.
They include projects like revitalising derelict sites, establishing parks and walkways, boosting SMEs and tourism, and preserving historical landmarks.
