Forecasters say it remains to be seen if there will be a heatwave this week

The highest temperature recorded today is at Oak Park in Carlow, where it got to 28 degrees.

Forecasters say it remains to be seen if there will be a heatwave this week.

It will be warm, however temperatures need to be over 25 degrees for five days or more to be classified as a heat wave.

A slight dip in the temperature on Thursday is expected though.
