Kfm has contacted Glenveagh and Kildare County Council to determine if similar issues have been uncovered across the county.
Inspections at one of the country's largest housing developments, led by Glenveagh, a Maynooth-based company, have uncovered several defects, sparking concerns about the project's progress.
The social and affordable scheme at Oscar Traynor Road is a flagship project for Dublin City Council, with work underway on the first of the 853 planned units.
The local authority says it's currently trying to finalise with the developer what works are needed to fix the problems.
Councillor John Lyons has described the findings as a "bombshell".
He said the public need to know how serious the defects are and whether it will delay the much needed housing.
When contacted by Kfm, a spokesperson said the issue relates "solely" to Oscar Traynor Road.
They said they are continuing to work "constructively "with Dublin City Council on development.
"No homes in this development have been completed yet, as construction works are still at an early stage. Each of the homes will be completed to the high standards that are rightly expected of us. We have provided detailed responses to the Council’s requests for information and are committed to resolving any issues arising from these requests to the satisfaction of all parties," the spokesperson said.
