Its the 2nd such fine in a week.
A €2,000 fine has been issued at another Kildare multi-agency checkpoint.
Last Wednesday, a fine of that order was issued for using green diesel.
Another driver has been issued with the same penalty, during Naas Garda checkpoints in North Kildare, operated with the RSA and Customs.
It took place within the last 24 hours, and also saw the detention of 4 HGVs for "dangerous defects.
One operator was found to be without a haulage licence, and a car was impounded for not paying VRT, following its importing in 2018.
