An environmentalist says reports of tech companies making a demand that the government issue a policy statement on data centres is 'offensive'.
The Business Post reports that Google, Amazon and Microsoft are calling for ministers to issue support for the facilities and direct government departments to support them.

Backweston, in Celbridge, is the site on which the state's new data centre is currently under construction.
