Part of government plan to reduce cost of living
A 20% reduction in bus fares will kick-in on some public transport services tomorrow.
The fares decrease is part of the Government's package to reduce the cost of living.
It will benefit customers on city services in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford, as well as town services in Athlone, Balbriggan, Drogheda, Dundalk, Navan and Sligo.
Fares on inter-urban and commuter services will also fall, although fares on the commercial Expressway services are not included.
Fare cuts in the Dublin area won’t be introduced until May.
The Minister for Transport announced the plan to cut fares back in February.
