Gardai also seized two cars during the app demonstration.

One person was arrested and two vehicles seized during the mobility app nationwide rollout event in Kildare yesterday

Gardai, at the launch in Ladytown, confirmed that the mobility app system is being extended to every Division in Ireland.

The Kildare Division is among those in which the system, used by Roads Policing Units and at checkpoints, was trialled.

During a demonstration of the app, one person was arrested for drink driving.

Gardai also seized two vehicles and issued 12 batches of fines and penalty points, for lacking tax NCT, not wearing seatbelts, non-display of L-plates and to two unaccompanied learner drivers.

Kfm Radio's Ciara Noble attended the launch and spoke to Assistant Commissioner for the Eastern Region, Dave Sheehan and Garda Head of Digital Services and Innovation, Tim Willoughby - listen back here
