Compared with other working age adults
A UK study finds teachers were not at greater risk of being taken to hospital with Covid-19, compared to the general population.
The research, published in the British Medical Journal, was carried out by Public Health Scotland & 4 Scottish Universities, based on available data from March 2020 to July 2021.
When schools were mostly closed, teachers were 50% less likely than other working-age adults to be admitted.
The research included an analysis of periods when schools were fully open.
Researchers found the risk in both groups was similar.
