Hurricane Ida Leaves Over 1 Million Without Power

Hit US state of Louisiana

Approximately 25,000 workers are trying to restore power to more than 1 million people, after Hurricane Ida struck the US state of Louisiana.

Officials say the effects of the powerful storm could last for weeks, after it brought winds of up to 240 kilometres per hour.

At least 4 people have died and it's feared that number's likely to increase.

White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, has updated reporters on the devastation the hurricane's caused:
