SOCCER

Liverpool has fallen to a second straight defeat after losing 1-nil against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The Premier League champions look to be without goalkeeper Alisson for this weekend's match with Chelsea, he went off injured in the second half last night.

Tottenham came from 2-nil down to draw 2-all with Bodo/Glimt in Norway.

Chelsea beat Benfica 1-nil.

Newcastle play Union Saint-Gilloise  in one of today's early kick-offs.

That's followed by Arsenal hosting Olympiakos and Manchester City play Monaco.

There's a game in Spain between Barcelona and the reigning champions PSG.

Athlone Town can complete the first leg of a double this evening.

John Sullivan's team will be crowned Women's National League champions if they win at basement side Cork City.

The Midlanders are also through to this month's Women's FAI Cup final, where they'll face Bohemians.

 

GAELIC GAMES

The Camogie Association's CEO Sinead McNulty has announced that she's stepping down after six years in the position.

McNulty says she's 'immensely proud' of what was achieved during her 'incredible journey' in the role.

With talks continuing around integration with the GAA, her departure follows Helen O'Rourke's decision to step down as the LGFA's chief executive at the end of the year.
 

TENNIS

World tennis number one Carlos Alcaraz says he's having his "best season so far" after winning his eighth title of 2025 with victory at the Japan Open.

He beat Taylor Fritz in straight sets in the final in Tokyo.

The Spaniard won the Australian Open, French Open and US Open titles this season.

 

RACING

There’s a seven race card at Bellewstown from twenty-to-two.

There's also a seven-race meeting at Sligo, from 10-to-2.
