They beat holders Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley, surviving a late scare, as Arne Slot's team pulled back a goal in injury time.

Mikel Merino scored the only goal of the game as second-place Arsenal won 1-nil against Chelsea, in their London derby yesterday.

Manchester United picked up a 3-nil victory, at struggling Leicester, while Fulham beat Spurs 2-nil.

The Republic of Ireland squad are assembling in Dublin this morning, ahead of Thursday's Nations League play off,  first leg away to Bulgaria.

 

RUGBY
Blackrock and Terenure clash for the 10th time in a Leinster Schools Senior Cup final this afternoon.

71-time champions Blackrock go into the decider hoping to be crowned champions for the third time in four seasons.

Terenure College are chasing their first title since 2003 and there's a half-one kick-off at Tallaght Stadium.

GOLF
Rory McIlroy faces a play-off against American golfer, JJ Spaun to win The Players Championship.

The Northern Irishman let a three-shot lead slip, in the closing holes of yesterday's weather-affected final round.

The pair ended level on 12-under-par, and a lack of daylight pushed the tournament into a fifth day for today's play-off.

The play-off is due to begin at 1 o'clock Irish time.

 

RACING
The going is good to yielding at Down Royal this morning, ahead of their seven-race St Patrick's Day card this afternoon.

There's an eight-minutes-to-two start for the opener there.

It's also a seven-race card at Wexford, where the first goes to post at twenty-five-to-two.
