The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper headed the ball into the back of the net as The Cherries won the Hampshire Senior Cup.

Republic of Ireland goalkeeper, Maynooth's Mark Travers, who plays his club football with AFC Bournemouth, helped his side win the Hampshire Senior Cup against Eastleigh last night.

The game was played at the Snows Stadium and Eastleigh were leading before Travers came up for a corner, rose highest and headed the ball into the net to send the game to penalties.

The Kildare man then saved a penalty in the shoot-out to ensure his side were victorious on the night.

Travers started his career off with Confey and Lucan United before moving to the UK, where he has played in the Premier League and The Championship and also earned three caps for the Republic of Ireland national team.
