The Republic of Ireland women's team have qualified for the World Cup finals for the first time in their history.

They beat Scotland 1-0 in their play off at Hampden Park on Tuesday night.

Donegal native Amber Barrett scored the winning goal, 18 minutes from time.

Barrett dedicated the her goal to the victims of the Creeslough tragedy, both of her grandparents hail from the village in Donegal.

This was after goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan saved a first half penalty from Caroline Weir.
