Ireland International Keith Earls Confirms Retirement From Rugby With Immediate Effect

File image: Munster Rugby Website

The 36-year-old Munster back has played as a professional for 16-years

Keith Earls says he feels incredibly fortunate to be retiring from rugby on his own terms.

The 36-year old winger scored 36 tries in his 101 appearances in an Ireland jersey.

He was part of the Grand Slam-winning side of 2018, and this World Cup was his fourth in which to be involved.

Earls says playing for Munster gave him some of the greatest days of his life, helping them win a Champions Cup and three league titles.

It was a fourth World Cup for the Limerick native and he was also on the 2018 Six Nations Grand Slam winning team.

Earls scored 64 tries in 202 appearances for Munster and is the province's second-highest try-scorer of all-time.
