Ireland Are In Rome Today To Take On Italy

Kick-off at the Stadio Olimpico is at 2.15pm

RUGBY

Ireland face an uphill battle this afternoon if they are to retain their 6 Nations title.

Simon Easterby's charges are in Rome to take on Italy, and will need a win with a bonus point and hope that both France and England both lose.

Full-back Hugo Keenan knows that the Azzurri will be hard beat.

Kick-off at the Stadio Olimpico is at 2.15.

At the Principality Stadium, Wales take on England from 4-45, whilst at 8 o'clock France welcome Scotland to Paris.

SOCCER

In the English Premier League, Manchester City welcome Brighton at 3 o'clock at the Etihad stadium.

Manchester City are a point and 2 places above Brighton who have won their last 4.

Elsewhere at 3pm, Ipswich host Nottingham Forest, David Moyes' Everton welcome his old side West Ham and basement side Southampton take on Wolves.

At 5:30, Bournemouth and Brentford do battle at the Vitality.

GOLF

Rory McIlroy is in contention at the Player's Championship at Sawgrass.

The Hollywood native carded a second round of 68 to leave himself on 9-under-par two shots off the lead held jointly by Akshay Bhatia and Min-Woo Lee at 11-under-par.

Shane Lowry just made the cut after shooting 71 to finish on one-under-par.
