His Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz escaped a burning car.
Charles Leclerc has won an incident-packed Austrian F1 Grand Prix.
Leclerc has finished ahead of world champion Max Verstappen, who he passed three times to claim his first triumph since he took the chequered flag in Australia on April 10.
Verstappen finished second after Carlos Sainz had to retire when his car caught fire, with 14 laps remaining.
Lewis Hamilton joined the top two on the podium thanks to a third place finish.
His Mercedes colleague George Russell climbed up to fourth following a five second penalty for a collision with Sergio Perez - who was unable to finish the race.
