Verdict To Be Delivered Today In Trial Of 4 Men For Abduction & Imprisonment Of Kevin Lunney.

They pleaded not guilty to charges of false imprisonment and assault causing the director of Quinn Industrial Holdings serious harm in September 2019.

Four men who stood trial for the abduction and serious assault of Kevin Lunney will learn their fate later this morning when the judges deliver their verdicts.

They pleaded NOT guilty to charges of false imprisonment and assault causing the director of Quinn Industrial Holdings serious harm in September 2019.

Our Courts Correspondent Frank Greaney reports:

"One of the men who stood trial can’t be named for legal reasons.

The other three are:

40yo Alan O’Brien and 27yo Darren Redmond, both from East Wall in Dublin city, and 68yo Luke O’Reilly with an address at Mullahoran Lower, Kilcogy, Co Cavan.

They’re accused of being involved in the abduction of Kevin Lunney from outside his home in September 2019.

After being transported to another location in the boot of a car, the director of Quinn Industrial Holdings claimed he was tortured in what he believed to be a horse box.

His leg was broken and he told the non-jury court he was doused in bleach and attacked with a knife before being dumped on the side of a country road.

Throughout his ordeal, he claimed he was repeatedly told to resign from his position.

The three judges will deliver their verdicts later this morning."
