Two men remain in custody this morning after a 6.9 million euro drug seizure in Co. Kilkenny.
It was discovered as part of an intelligence-led operation yesterday.
This cannabis seizure, valued at almost seven million euro, is one of the largest here in recent times.
It was discovered after officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau searched a business premises in Ballyhale yesterday with the help of Revenue officials.
Two men, in their 30s and 40s were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, and have been held overnight at Kilkenny Garda Station.
The Garda action forms part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute those involved in the drugs trade.
Officers believe this latest seizure formed part of a transnational drug trafficking network.
