There were 961 references to alcohol during the Scotland v England game.

A study of alcohol marketing during the Six Nations Rugby Championship found viewers were targeted as much as every 12 seconds.

The research, involving Alcohol Action Ireland, found there were 961 references during the Scotland v England game.

During the broadcast of Ireland’s home match against Wales, viewers were targeted with 754 alcohol promo messages – one every 15 seconds.

It comes as these type of on-field promotions are set to be banned from November 12th.
