A Social Democrats TD has been suspended after he admitted to giving incorrect information about when he divested shares he had in a company that supplies software to the Israeli military.

Hayes confirmed that he sold his shares in software company Palantir for just under €200,000, one month after he was elected to Dublin City Council.
He also said that he worked for Palantir between 2015 and 2017 in internal operations, in areas like HR and IT.
He said he had no role in anything related to any military contracts, for the Israeli military or anyone else.
In a statement, Social Democrats deputy leader, Cian O’Callaghan, said: "This is a serious matter. It is imperative that the media, who hold politicians to account on behalf of the public, can rely on the information they receive from elected representatives. For that reason, Eoin Hayes has been suspended from the Social Democrats parliamentary party with immediate effect."
