New Rules Will See Porn Websites Introduce Stronger Safeguards To Protect Children

New rules from the media watchdog will see porn websites reporting on how they're preventing children from accessing unsuitable material

New rules from the media watchdog will see porn websites reporting on how they're preventing children from accessing unsuitable material.

Under new rules, both here and across the EU, major websites that host pornographic or violent material will have to introduce stronger safeguards to protect children from looking at inappropriate content.

Coimisiún na Meán says its new Online Safety Code will make online platforms accountable for how they protect children.

Executive Chairperson, Jeremy Godfrey, says platforms will have to show that their safeguards are effective.
