Music & Entertainment Association Says Ticketing For Nightclubs Has Been 'Thrown In Last Minute'

The association says the ticketing requirement was not discussed at a meeting that was held on Friday.

The Music and Entertainment Association says the ticketing decision for nightclubs shouldn't have been thrown in at 'the very last minute'.

It says the requirement for people to buy tickets to get into nightclubs wasn't discussed at Friday's meeting.

The Government took the decision after holding talks with the industry and the new rule for entry will take effect next week.

MEAI spokesperson Matt McGranahan says it'll be very hard for many venues to bring this ticketing step in, particularly in rural areas:
