Music & Entertainment Association Of Ireland Says PUP Must Be Extended By 6 Months.

Tomorrow industry representatives will meet with the Government to discuss a roadmap for re-opening

The Pandemic Unemployment Payment for those in the live events sector needs to be extended by six months, according to industry group, the Music and Entertainment Association of Ireland .

The rate of PUP is due to be cut from the 7th of September with it being phased out entirely by February.

Our Political Correspondent Seán Defoe reports:

The Government needs to be upfront and honest with the live events industry if it's going to be left shut.

That's according to Sinn Féin.
