A video sent to Kfm shows a fake QR code placed on an official Payzone poster
Motorists are being warned of fake parking QR codes when paying for parking.
A woman in Wicklow has reportedly being scammed out of €1,000 after attempting to pay for parking in Greystones, Bray.
In a video sent to Kfm, a fake QR code sticker can be seen being peeled off an official Payzone poster, covering the original QR code.
The fake QR code leads the payee to a scam website, which takes the payee's bank details and results in them being scammed.
These QR codes are provided on parking meters and posters for motorists to pay for parking via their phone.
