Chair of the Oireachtas Justice Committee, James Lawless, says more protections for pub and nightclub workers are needed.
There are calls for new laws to help protect bar and nightclub staff from abuse from customers.
A report's been released ahead of new laws which would see pubs and nightclubs allowed to stay open later.
The updated laws are due to be published by the Minister for Justice in the new year, and would see nightclubs allowed serve alcohol until 5am.
