New public health advice from the HSE will also see community testing centres closed down.
Testing centres first opened three years ago will be wound down today, while the online portal will also be deactivated.
The HSE has also said there is no longer a need for those who aren't high-risk to test for COVID-19 if they show symptoms.
The HSE adds that anyone who is feeling unwell should stay at home until 48 hours after symptoms have substantially resolved.
It's also recommending that close contacts of healthcare workers no longer take an antigen test.
PCR and antigen testing will still be available in GP practices and hospitals, to allow doctors to diagnose and treat patients.
