Road Safety Authority says most fatalities happen on rural roads.
Kildare drivers are being asked to slow down and have a safe Bank Holiday weekend.
The Road Safety Authority has issued the warning as they say too many people have already died on the roads this year.
The number of people killed is up by 15 on the same time last year, with 126 deaths.
RSA Chairperson Liz O'Donnell says people should be particularly careful on rural roads.
