The shooting happened at Opium Beach Club in Marbella on the Costa Del Sol in the early hours of this morning.
A crowd attended a DJ set and four people suffered gunshot wounds.
Police in Marbella have said five people were injured, four suffered gunshout wounds and it's understood an Irishman was the worst injured.
He was rushed to hospital in the aftermath and it's believed he's being treated in ICU with chest injuries.
Among those was injured was a woman who was described as lifeless on the floor of the venue.
The police have said they are not aware of any deaths at this time.
Police have arrested a Dutch-Arab suspect, and it's believed the shooting arose from an argument between a group of Arabs and Russians at the club.
Those who witnessed the shooting said the scene looked like a stampede, with people running for their lives and sheltering for cover.
