Ireland will instead pay into a solidarity fund.

Ireland won't be accepting many new migrants under a fresh European Union deal, according to the Taoiseach.

Agreement has been reached to see other countries support those who have accepted the most migrants over the past few years.

That can be done through a redistribution of people or paying into a solidarity fund.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said Ireland will likely be opting for the latter:
