Investigations Underway Following Shooting In Limerick

A man in his 30's was rushed to hospital after being shot, twice in the back.

A man in his 40's is being questioned by Gardaí, following a shooting in Limerick yesterday afternoon.

The victim, a man in his 30's was rushed to hospital after being shot, twice in the back.

His injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

A gun was fired in the Ballinacurra Weston area of Limerick City yesterday afternoon.

A man was shot and seriously injured in the shooting and the scene was sealed off for a technical examination.

The man in his 30s has been brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment for his serious injuries.

A man, in his 40s, has been arrested and is being questioned at a garda station in the city, where he can be held for up to 3 days.

Gardaí are investigating and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who was in the Hyde Avenue, Crecora Avenue and Ballinacurra Weston areas of the City between 4pm and 4:45pm yesterday and who may have camera footage is asked to contact gardai.
