A High Court judge has described Enoch Burke’s continued presence at Wilson’s Hospital School, as “unsettling.”
The judge approved yet another application to have Mr Burke committed to prison for repeatedly defying an order refraining him from attending at the school.
Mr J Brian Cregan said there’s something deeply unsettling about Enoch Burke’s presence at Wilson’s Hospital School – from where he was dismissed for gross misconduct.
He said Mr Burke doesn’t just trespass onto the school grounds – he goes right into the heart of the school, roaming around its corridors when he has no right to do so.
In an effort to keep him out, the school had to hire security guards at a rate of €1,000 per month.
Mr J Cregan said he is a "baleful and malign presence, an intruder, stalking the school, its teachers and its pupils.”
Mr Burke claims this case is about his view on transgenderism, but the judge assured him it has nothing to do with that – it is about his defiance of a court order.
He said Mr Burke and all members of his family are bound the rule of law, just as every citizen in this society is.
A committal order is now in place to send Mr Burke back to prison, where he has already spent over 500 days for contempt of court.
