The Garda Commissioner says the force may seek a full-time cadaver dog to aid body searches.
It comes after concerns raised by Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan yesterday about how long it took gardaí to locate Tina Satchwell's body in Cork.
Gardaí currently rely on a PSNI dog, called Fern, who eventually located Tina's remains - six years after she was murdered by Richard Satchwell.
