The scenes of both incidents are currently sealed off.
Gardaí are investigating two fatal collisions overnight.
A woman in her 70s was hit by a van in County Clare, while a minibus driver died after crashing into a bridge on the Clare/Limerick border.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash involving a van and a pedestrian on the N67 at Moyasta, between Kilrush and Kilkee, shortly after 7 o'clock yesterday evening.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a minibus driver in his 30s died when he struck Athlunkard Bridge on Corbally Road outside Limerick city shortly before 3 o'clock this morning.
He was the sole occupant of the bus.
Both bodies have been removed to University Hospital Limerick, where post-mortems will be carried out.
Athlunkard Bridge and a portion of the N67 at Moyasta remain closed this morning, while Forensic Collision Investigators carry out examinations.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either incident to come forward.
