The Irish Independent is reporting that Gardaí are investigating a suspected petrol bomb attack on a Tallaght property being considered for asylum accommodation.
The firebombing in the village last night is the latest suspected arson incident in which a building linked to the housing of migrants has been targeted.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at St John’s House in the village at around 11pm last night (Tuesday).
A large number of first responders, including gardaí and the Dublin Fire Brigade, arrived at the scene which remained sealed-off overnight.
Detectives at Tallaght garda station have launched a criminal investigation into the incident and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
The building was being considered for migrant accommodation and the International Protection Application Service (IPAS) had been in the process of responding to an offer in respect of the property.
