Family Carers Ireland Call For Increase In The Weekly Carers' Allowance

As part of its pre-budget submission, it wants the 237 euro payment for full-time carers to increase to 325-euro.

A group representing carers is calling for an 88-euro increase in the weekly carers' allowance.

As part of its pre-budget submission, it wants the 237 euro payment for full-time carers to increase to 325-euro.

Family Carers Ireland is also calling for means testing for the allowance to be abolished, and for carers to have access to a minimum of 20 days respite each year.
