Think-tank cautions government over €9.4bn spending package, echoing Central Bank concerns about overheating the economy.

The government is being told it should listen to warnings the economy could be in danger.

The ESRI has cautioned today there are 'parallels' with the period right before the economic crash in 2008.

It's echoing warnings from the Central Bank that government shouldn't proceed with spending plans of 9.4 billion euro in next months budget.

Economist John Fitzgerald says it was the ESRI who first warned about the economic catastrophe that happened in the late 2000's.
