There's been more disorder in France overnight, but it's been less intense than previous days.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is warning any Irish people travelling to France to "exercise caution".

In Marseille, police fired tear gas to disperse protesters, who gathered in response to an officer shooting dead a teenage driver.

The 17-year-old boy was killed in Paris on Tuesday.

It advises monitoring local media carefully and following official advice, as some towns and cities have imposed curfews and public transport has been disrupted.

However, travel expert Eoghan Corry says France is still largely safe for holiday-makers:
