The ban is expected to be in place by 2035.
A deal has been reached between the EU and Germany to ban new sales of cars using fossil fuels by 2035.
Drivers will have to switch to electric cars by then, unless they have cars with combustion engines that run on e-fuels - a demand from Germany.
