Children Among Victims As Domestic Abuse Cases Hit Record High In Ireland

It's thought many victims and survivors are still not coming forward.

One in four women in Ireland is subjected to domestic abuse - and so are many children.

A new report from Women's Aid has recorded over 40,000 disclosures last year - the highest in the organisation's 50 year history.

However it's thought many victims and survivors are still not coming forward.

Women's Aid CEO Sara Benson says there is still work needed to break the silence and encourage those in need to get the support they deserve.
