Emergency services attended the scene.

Gardai are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body inside a tent in Dublin City Centre this morning.

Emergency services attended the scene at Loftus Lane at around 3am.

He was treated at the scene but later pronounced dead.

Questions need to be raised about the suitability of some emergency accommodation, according to Dublin's Deputy Lord Mayor.

It's understood the man had been sleeping rough.

Gardai are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination before they determine the course of their investigation.

Deputy Lord Mayor Joe Costello says there are emergency beds for everyone who needs them, but admitted that some just aren't suitable.
