Airbnb Accused Of Profiting From War Crimes As Landmark Legal Case Launched In Dublin

The Global Legal Action Network is taking a judicial review in the Irish High Court against a decision from Gardaí not to investigate a complaint alleging Airbnb’s complicity.

An unprecedented set of international legal actions, targeting Airbnb’s alleged involvement in Israeli war crimes, is being launched in Dublin today.

It concerns alleged money laundering of proceeds of war crimes because the company lists rental properties in illegal settlements in Palestine.

The Global Legal Action Network is taking a judicial review in the Irish High Court against a decision from Gardaí not to investigate a complaint alleging Airbnb’s complicity.

One of its senior lawyers, Gerry Liston, explained why Ireland is at the centre of the case.

In a statement to Kfm, a spokesperson for Airbnb said: "Airbnb operates in compliance with applicable Irish and US laws. Since 2019, Airbnb has donated all profits generated from host activity in the West Bank to an international nonprofit, in line with our global framework on disputed territories."
