Irish Water apologises after heavy rain causes problems
A boil water notice for Wexford town remains in place, after heavy rain caused problems at the water treatment plant.
The water supply to around 40,000 customers in the county has been impacted.
Crews from Irish Water and Wexford County Council tried to rectify the turbidity, or cloudiness, in the water yesterday.
After they were unable to resolve the issue, a boil water notice was issued for all areas which are supplied by the Wexford Town Public Water Supply.
Ronan Walsh, Operational Lead with Irish Water, has apologised to customers.
