Two funerals took place today
Two funerals have taken place today, to celebrate three lives tragically lost in the Creeslough disaster.
Catherine O’Donnell and her 13 year old son James Monaghan were laid to rest just outside Creeslough, while James O’Flaherty’s funeral took place in Derrybeg.
39 year old Catherine was a self confused shopaholic and loved to organise parties for loved ones.
Her son, James was a wrestling fan, who had just attended his first disco.
This morning 48 year old James O’Flaherty was laid to rest.
He was remembered as a family man, who loved reading his wife’s research and playing with his 12 year old son Haemish.
5 of the 10 funerals for the victims of last week's explosion have now taken place.
€673,000 has been raised to date, for the Creeslough Community Support Fund.
It's being run by the Irish Red Cross with donations at post offices nationally or at Applegreen outlets.
There is also a Go Fund Me page raising money for the victims with over €389,000 raised.
The two funds mean more than €1 million has been raised for the families and community affected by the tragedy in Creeslough.
