2 Separate Collisions In County Galway Last Night Have Left One Man Dead And Another With Serious Injuries

GardaÍ are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either incident to come forward

A man in his 60s has died in a crash in County Galway.

A second man has been left with serious injuries following a separate collision in Galway City.

Emergency services were alerted to a single-car collision on a local road in the Blackacre area of Tuam shortly after 10.30 last night.

The driver and sole occupant, a man in his 60s, was found unresponsive and taken by ambulance to University Hospital Galway, where he was later pronounced dead.

The road will remain closed until a technical examination of the scene is completed.

Meanwhile in Galway City,

A man in his 30s was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was driving crashed on the Siobhán McKenna Road shortly before 8 o'clock yesterday evening.

He was also taken to University Hospital Galway, where he remains in a serious condition today.

GardaÍ are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either incident, or has camera footage from the area, to come forward.
