Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney says a limited number of Irish citizens are still in Afghanistan.

16 more Irish citizens and their children are waiting to fly back to Ireland, after being evacuated from Kabul in Afghanistan.

The 10 citizens and six dependents arrived in Doha late on Wednesday night on a specially organised flight.

Former Army soldier, Senator Gerard Craughwell, is criticising the government's response to the crisis.
