WWF: Some Of Ireland's Most Treasured Species Are Under Threat.

WWF says endangered species are dependent on the outcome of climate talks in Glasgow

Some of Ireland's most treasured species including puffins and bumblebees are under serious threat from climate change.

That's according to a new global report from the World Wildlife Fund.

Other wildlife found in Ireland on the list are hare and bluebells - while overseas, hippos, sea turtles and emperor penguins are under threat.

It says endangered species are dependent on the outcome of climate talks in Glasgow in November and is calling on world leaders to cut greenhouse gas emissions to limit the damage.

John Sweeney is a Climatologist and Emeritus Prof. of Geography at Maynooth University.

He joined Clem Ryan on Thursday's edition of Kildare Today.
